Sub-15 seconds on the Rubik’s Cube… Should be an easy enough task, right?
Hello, everyone! Long time no see…
So a bit of context, I’ve been speedsolving the Rubik’s Cube since I was in 5th grade. I learned how to solve the cube back in 3rd grade, and fell in love with the hobby ever since. My passion for speedcubing has waxed and waned over the years, and for many years, my cubes collected dust on my desk.
But, I started getting recommended videos about cubing, and it rekindled my interest and passion for the hobby.
One goal I’ve always had for myself is to solve the cube in less than 15 seconds on average. It’s been my biggest hurdle, and was probably what made me stop speedcubing years ago. But! I’m ready to get back into the game and to try and accomplish my goal, and I figured I’d take y’all on the journey as well.
The Challenge
Solve a 3×3 Rubik’s Cube in less than 15 seconds on average
The Rules
Have to have an average of 100 that’s sub-15, otherwise it won’t count.
I don’t have a hand timer anymore, so only tracking my solves via qqtimer.
Inspection time can be as long as needed, with the eventual goal of solving sub-15 with a standard inspection time of 15 seconds.
Try to document/incorporate a new practice skill every week, and document my times in the video/blog post when I can.
TLDR: Try to solve the 3×3 in less than 15 seconds and do so for an average of 100
And with that, here are this week’s stats listed in the video!
Best average of 5: 14.03 seconds
Best average of 12: 14.99 seconds
Last average of 100: 17.02 seconds
Best average of 100 : 16.91 seconds
Thanks for watching/reading! Until next time 🙂
